Hey all,

Just got a temporary passport from DC. Actually got two. One with random DOB (obviously I was not born on that day) and is expiring next week (wow, really?). Other one with all good information (thanks DC for that at least). The old passport was in the packet with temporary ones but the citizenship card's not there. Is that normal? Do they send Citizenship card with the MRP?

do we need to make a separate request to embassy of nepal to issue temporary passport while sending an application for mrp passport OR
without any separate request, nepalese embassy will issue the temporary passport in case one needs to visit the nepal.

If we need to make a separate request, could you please let me know how to do so?

When you apply for MRP, you have to submit a letter stating why you need to have a temporary passport (reason - might say because of family urgency or business travel I guess), separate money order of $20, separate photos (2 copies) and a separate return envelop for temporary passport. Those all should be included with original MRP application and its supporting documents. Once you apply for MRP, you can't separately submit an application/letter requesting a temporary passport. And they don't just send you a temporary passport without you asking for it with fee, letter and photos.
