Oh lord! I’ve been struck
By a bullet,
And the feet’s lagging,
Suddenly the grasses turned red,
Remember the heat
Of first bullet,
Saw the face of mom,
Standing by the door,
Tears roll down
her ageing cheeks,
Sweet memories
of her smile,
Her warm hands passing by,
Withering Palm
Just a few steps away,
Feet dragging towards it,
But never gonna get there.

Second shot,
It’s even worse,
Body’s stopped,
Mind stunned,
Absolutely numb,
Drowned in my own
Flood of blood,
The flesh’s gone
But the will’s not dead,
I kneel on my knees,
Gentle breeze flowing
Pass the body wound,
Soothing calm,
Sense of loss,
A tall figure
approached me,
dad’s stretching out his hand,
I try hard,
But fail to bridge the
air gap,
he smiled at me,
words flew from his mouth,
like water from springs,
‘Son! You’ve made us proud’
It was a dream,
didn’t like it,
Out here is nightmare,
but it’s lovely,
time for confession,
‘Sorry dad’
