कुरो इकोनोमिक स्टिमुलसको हो । H1B को SSN भए पनि H4 को धेरै जसो SSN नभएर ITIN मात्र हुन्छ । TAX त joint file गर्नै पर्‍यो Married status भए पछी । तर एक जना को SSN नभए पछी दुबैको स्टिमुलस नआउने  रहेछ ।

हुन त SSA ले कुनै Federal Program मा SSN नभएको कारण benefit लिन मिल्दैन भने Work Permit नभएका Legal Resident ले पनि SSN लिन पाउंछ भनेर लेखेको रहेछ (http://www.socialsecurity.gov/OP_Home/cfr20/422/422-0104.htm)। तर SSA म बुझ्न जांदा Economic Stimulus पाउन SSN दिन मिल्दैन भन्यो । अरे बाबा, कि SSN देउ कि त स्टिमुलस eligible बनाइ देउ ??????

एक त H4 ले काम नै गर्न पाउंदैन, त्यस माथि एक्लो कमाइले चली रहेको परिवार लाई झन मार मा पर्ने ? H1b ले फेरी अमेरिकि जस्तै Federal, State, SSN, र Medicare tax तिरेकै हुन्छ, किन तिनीहरुको परिवारलाइ मात्रा पाखा गरेका हुन? यो त अन्याय नै हो ।   

पोहर साल त गयो गयो, यस पाली के गर्ने हुन कुन्नी ?  आश भने थोपो छैन, जे भने पनि पराइ देश भनेको पराइ नै हो ।

"एक त H4 ले काम नै गर्न पाउंदैन..." It is incorrect. H4 can work provided his/her acadmic/skill set background meets the requirement of any job.

Reason I am saying is that, there are many H4 spouses (majority in Indian IT guys) who end up getting IT  jobs and transferring their status to H1B. Hence, it makes you eligible to obtain SSN.

Your spouse don't even need IT academic background but need to have undergraduate degree.

I was trying to imply that H4 can't work in H4 status, they need to change status to something else H1B, or F1 etc to work. We have seen how hard it is to get H1B (from fellow Sajha'ites).

My point was that the law ensured that the dependents (H4) can't work and they are not eligible for SSN; and now they are ripping off by saying that you can't get stimulus because you don't have SSN or work. It's like double jeopardy !!!

 

I am in the same page bro, I am a LPR and my wife has a ITIN no., I lost 1200 last year cause I was not so called 'eligable' to get Bush's stimulas money. Bulllll Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

 

 

I lost $1500 last year.  Even though my son and I have SS # we still didn't got any $$ coz I filed joint return and my wife don't have SS#.  It sucks big time.
