I am a 3rd year PhD student in the US with an expired F-1 visa (valid I-20, obviously). I want to go to Turkey for a friend’s wedding this September. Will I be able to get a US student visa from Turkey to reenter the US? Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice is much appreciated!

Dont ever do that...turkey is one of most worst country espically for asian and renewing F1 visa from turkey is high unlikely

Better check the US embassy's site in Ankara, Turkey whether or not they accept applications for visas from citizens of countries other than Turkey. There will also be a consular email address that you can use to inquire about the process or ask specific questions. However, if I'm not mistaken, for F visas, the applicant will have to apply/re-apply from his/her home country with the exception of Canada & Mexico. Good Luck!
