Giri haru vaneko since centuries...trading community...because they were considered, sanyasi...they were above the law and were treated differently by immigration in our region...so they had access to raja/maharaja and that is why there did long distance trading and also were considered spies as they knew first hand the current political condition of different power centers...that's according to one history book...Very wealthy society of Nepal/India...Anywhere you go in Nepal, they usually are tight knit community and own lots of lands... As far as I have noticed and I haven't travelled much in Nepal

गिरि, पुरी , भारती दिउसै गर्छन आरति . हिन्दु धर्म अनुसार आरति साँझ मात्र गर्नु पर्छ नत्र घोर अलछिंन हुन्छा , तेसैले सनातन धर्म आवलाम्बी ले गिरि लाइ आफ्नो समुदाय बाहिर राखेको छ . गिरिहरु मागेर खाने ( आलोक निरन्जन ) हो . यिनले धर्म लाइ बहिस्कार गरेको हुन्छन तेसैले सन्यासी हुन् . न्वारन , बर्तान्मन , किर्य आदि केहि हुदैन . तेसैले छेत्री , बाहुन , नेवार कोइ संग नाता सम्बन्ध चल्दैन . गिरि गलित होइन तर हिन्दु धर्म माने पनि हिन्दु समुदायमा पर्दैन .
