I was surprised to see this picture in kantipur. The news read as "Department of Education distributed free laptops to all 16 students of Class 4 in the school as a pilot project with technical assistance from Nepal branch of One Laptop per Child (OLPC) mission." I heard about this program before, but never thought they would go serious about it. I haven't seen those models of laptop before. They look better than what I have. One interesting thing is: the desks in the classroom don't look classy enough to hold the laptops- I wonder where they get all the power plug to hook in all those things. And with so many hours of loadshedding and high price for electricity, can government afford to continue it. Or by the end of the day, when those hippies who brought those toys leave, would those teachers take it home for their children. Give your opinion on it. Are you impressed or not-optimistic about this scheme?

I am not surprised to see this ,as I have already heard much about this. However, those seen are among few lucky kids.I don't think  it's possible  that every kid in Nepal gets  it.As far as the power  is concerned, those computers don't  need electricity for recharging their batteries. They are charged by some mechanical means;I guess with handle attached.....These computers are said to be  MIT's innovative products.
