Does anyone know whether one can extend Nepal's visa at any entry point or if it has to be done only in Kathmandu?

Thanks

Did that, and got two conficting reports from the two places.

Tried DC: The receptionist there said extension can be done only in Kathmandu.

Then tried NY: The consular section said a visa can be extended at any entry points.

Anyhoo..... Nepal Nepal mero gulaab ko kaada!

I know a lot of friends who enter Nepal from India. So getting the visa issued there should not be an issue, not sure about the extentions though.

Well, I think both are right.

If you are in Nepal, you have to go to visa extension office.  I think it is in Tripureshwor, but I am not sure.

Alternatively, you can leave Nepal and when you re-enter, you will be given a new visa at the airport.

I am not certain if they issue visa at the land point of entry, such as Kakkarbhitta, Jogbani, Birgunj or Nepalgunj.
